Hailing from deep in the Welsh mountains, Ali John Meredith-Lacey or Novo Amor, is known for “From Gold”, “Weather” and “Carry You”. His striking and melancholic brand of “beard folk” recalls predecessors like Bon Iver and Iron & Wine while liable to transport the listener to another realm.
Lacey recently released Heiress, a collaborative debut album with Brighton-bred songwriter and producer Ed Tullett. It features “Terraform”, accompanied by a video that was shot in Indonesia and depicts the hard lives of the sulphur miners of Ijen and their families.
