Former Disney star Miley Cyrus gave a gender-bending performance at Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s new variety show Maya & Marty on Tuesday night.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer stunned the audience with her powerful vocal delivery.

The performance featured a medley of two songs, beginning with Leonard Cohen’s 1988 “I’m Your Man.” The star came on stage in a bedazzled black-and-white tux and glittery top hat.

Miley Cyrus commanded the stage with her smoky vocals, reminding the audience once again of the singer’s talent for classic covers.
Upon completing the number, the singer tossed her top hat and ripped open her coattails, revealing a black bodysuit for her cover of Peggy Lee’s 1963 “I’m a Woman.”
Cyrus was joined on stage by Rudolph who was wearing the same black-and-white ensemble.

The performance is aligned with the 23-year-old’s stance on gender equality. She previously spoke in an interview last year about gender expectations.
“I don’t relate to what people would say defines a girl or a boy, and I think that’s what I had to understand: Being a girl isn’t what I hate, it’s the box that I get put into,” said Cyrus.
