Singaporean singer-songwriter LEW releases a new sweet-serenading and iridescent track which features Canadian artist Julia Gartha.

Singaporean singer-songwriter LEW (Lewis Loh) has released his latest single ‘Serendipity’ ahead of his EP launch ‘Red Flags’ which comes out on October 18th.
Serendipity’ is his third single from the album. It speaks about about finding happiness in unplanned incidents that occur in our lives. Unlike what conventional wisdom would tell us, happiness is often conditional.
The track features Julia Gartha from ‘The Launch’, a Canadian reality music competition series on CTV. Both artists study at Berklee College of Music.
The duet’s gentle voices take the listener on a serendipitous encounter with a new friend into the sunset. This track showcases LEW’s signature pensive style together with Julia Gartha’s feather-light voice, as they sing together about the ephemerality of human connection.
LEW is a 23-year old Singaporean singer-songwriter who translates intangible emotion into an embrace that is rough but real. His voice is a melodic silky sound that hugs you like a friend and takes you home.

In 2017, LEW released his debut album Lullacry’ at his sold-out album launch. ‘Lullacry’ reached #1 on the Singapore iTunes Charts, #6 in China and #9 in Taiwan respectively, and has now amassed over 5.6 million plays on Spotify.

His other popular song Loved You So has had 82k views on Youtube. It remains a favourite among many, with his audience even singing along to the chorus at his sets. For instance, during Rhys Lewis’ gig in July, of which he was the opening act of, as well as during the recent Baybeats Festival 2019.

Since then, LEW has proven himself as a prolific songwriter, releasing 1 album and 2 EPs that each clocked over a million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. LEW is currently completing his studies in Boston at the Berklee College of Music, and his songwriting focuses on the human connection and the healing of trauma from his audience’s past experiences.
Being an openly queer artist, LEW has always believed in normalising his identity, actively choosing never to change the pronouns in his songs, and speaks openly about his current boyfriend and past partners while performing to live audiences.
Says LEW,
Being a queer artist is about my responsibility to the community. I was lucky and fortunate enough to have a strong support system, and so when I came out, I was met with support, love and understanding. I know that this is not the story for most in my community – and so I hope that by being an openly queer artist, I can at least make a lost and confused soul feel less alone.
