DMC Philippines and SM Mall of Asia are bringing you the First International Reggae Music Festival in Manila on April 16, 2016, set to be held in MOA Concert Grounds.
The festival is an unmissable one for reggae lovers. The packed lineup includes headliners Inner Circle and Big Mountain, as well as local acts Cocojam, Indio-I, Coffeebreak Island with Skarlet, Tropical Depression, Reggae Mistress, Brownman Revival, Bahaghari, Chocolate Factory, Collie Herb, The Blanc and Martin Buchanan.
Formed in 1968, this year’s headliner Jamaican reggae group Inner Circle are well known for their song “Bad Boys”, which was featured as the theme song of Fox’s long-running television program COPs. The band also won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 1993.
The second headliner is Big Mountain. Formed in 1991, the American reggae/pop band are well know for their reggae covers. They did a rendition of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way,” which became a major success and ranked on top of many music charts. The band’s now planing to record “KAPAYAPAAN”, also a popular local reggae song by Tropical Depression.
The festival promises great chill-out music and loads of fun activities. Attendees planning to get tattoo, dreadlocks and body painting are in for a treat. Other features of the festival include car shows, parties and skateboarding areas.
