Some songs feel like passing showers. Others stay with you, lingering quietly like a thought you can’t shake. SIZE’s newest single, some people stay (a little longer), belongs in the second category.
Released on September 5, 2025, across all digital platforms, the track is the third single from his upcoming debut EP idk, emotions are hard. True to its title, the song explores how certain people tend to remain in our minds long after they’re gone — like a pop song that refuses to leave your head.
Blending smooth 80s-inspired R&B with SIZE’s soft, introspective vocals, some people stay (a little longer) builds an atmosphere that feels both tender and timeless. Its lyrics capture the quiet ache of missing someone and the strange persistence of memory:
“Some people just have a tendency to stick around in our heads. As much as we try to resist, we can’t help but revisit the thought of them… until one day, the feeling of missing them blossoms out of the blue,” SIZE shares.
The track also marks his second collaboration with Singapore-based producer lamin, who has worked closely with him on shaping much of the upcoming EP. Together, they’ve crafted a sound that is stripped back yet emotionally charged, allowing SIZE’s reflective words to take center stage.
This release continues the young singer-songwriter’s journey of turning personal emotions into music that resonates widely. His songs often strip away the noise, focusing instead on raw honesty, where delicate vocals and melancholic storytelling meet.
With idk, emotions are hard expected later this year, SIZE is slowly piecing together a body of work that mirrors the complexities of growing up and figuring out the emotions in between. For now, some people stay (a little longer) is a gentle reminder of how feelings — and people — don’t always fade as quickly as we hope.
