Taylor Swift’s is expanding her empire to the fashion realm as her first clothing line debuted at the Hong Kong Fashion Week on January 18.
Initiated to counteract the unauthorised production of her “official” goods in China, the clothing collection was only available through the country’s JD.com, Tmall and Alibaba since last July. When we heard it’s making its way across the sea to the streets of Hong Kong, we trust making Swifties in other parts of the world jealous.
The clothing line is a partnership between Taylor Swift and Heritage66, a Nashville-based clothing manufacturer. Options are available for men and for women. High-waisted jeans, crop tops and hoodies range range from roughly $33 to around $45.
The only thing that would have made the Hong Kong Fashion Week runway more Swift-ified than it already was was the appearance of the “Out Of The Woods” singer herself. There, the models lined to strike fun, carefree poses whilst donning characteristic black and white stripes, trademarked lyrics and song titles, as well as Taylor’s signature bold red lipstick.
Taylor isn’t the first pop star to put launching a clothing line in her CV; Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Madonna and Beyoncé are a few names that have already given the fashion industry a go.
