Spotify, one of the most famous music streaming platforms at the moment, is not just offering music and podcasts. They are now drawing in more subscribers because of Audiobook Access and they are offering more than 350,000 titles. But there is a catch, actually two.
One, a Spotify Premium member, regardless of membership type, affords users 15 hours of on-demand Audiobook access per month. If you are a busybody and won’t have enough time to sit down to listen, then this may be enough for you. If you feel the time is too short, there is an option to purchase a 10-hour top-up.
And second, the regions that are lucky enough to check this in the interim are U.K. and Australia, with confirmation from Spotify that they just have it available in the US and Canadian territories.
Spotify has guaranteed that they will be bringing in at least 70% of all bestselling titles from well known publishers such as Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster and more.
Final verdict: Will this be enough to say goodbye to services like Audible? We may need to get this feature available worldwide before we can be the judge of that. Nonetheless, this is a big step in the right direction for the streaming service giant.
