Nerds, the Game of Thrones concert tour is coming

The Game of Thrones concert tour is coming.

HBO revealed yesterday a video teasing the upcoming Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, an immersive music and visual performance that will “bring the Seven Kingdoms to life on a scale never seen before.”

The concert will feature a full orchestra and choir conducted by the show’s composer Ramin Djawadi, accompanied by visuals from the Emmy-winning show.

Fans will embark on a musical Song of Ice and Fire journey through the world George R. R. Martin has created – from King’s Landing to Winterfell, along the northern stretches of the Kingsroad to The Wall and across the Narrow Sea to Braavos, Meereen and beyond.

“The GoT Concert Experience will be unique in the history of concert tours,” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said in a statement. “An eye-popping, ear-splitting, phantasmagoric blend of the show’s visuals and Ramin’s powerful compositions. We are more excited for it than anyone.”

As for us, we’re particularly interested to see the reaction when this gets played.

Still too soon?

So far only a little over 20 dates have been announced for the US and Canada, with the tour kicking off in Kansas City, Missouri on February 15, 2017.

Don’t feel disheartened just yet, though, Asia. Expansion will be here before you know it. Besides, we heard through grapevines that another wicked orchestra concert tour this way comes, and it’s more than enough to keep your nerd’s heart satisfied.
