Justin Timberlake is to make history as the first established musician and non-competitor to perform on the Eurovision Song Contest.

Eurovision revealed on Sunday (May 9) the nine-time Grammy winner will be performing his new single “Can’t Stop the Feeling” during the interval of the ceremony which, this year, will be held in Stockholm on Saturday, May 14.

On this historic live event, show producer of the 2016 contest Sven Stojanovic said, “This is a fantastic opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake will perform his new song together with his band in our show. It makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with Justin Timberlake.”

Every year since 1956, every country in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) submits an original song to be performed live and voted as the most popular song in the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the world’s largest broadcast entertainment show, reaching more than 200 million people all over the world.

This is year the show will be broadcast in all forty-two participating countries as well as the US, China, Kazakhstan, Portugal and New Zealand.
